Birthdays and Honors

The twins are 20 years old. Hard to believe it has only been 20 years since I held these little girls as brand new babies, and helped welcome them into the world, and forever welcome them into our lives. Love you girls.

Amanda was recently honored during the halftime of the Men's Basketball game at Salt Lake Community College. She received the Academic All American Award, and the Distinquised Academic All American. The second award was for a perfect 4.00 during her freshmen year at School, while playing volleyball. Great award, congratuations Amanda!!

Amanda's team was also honored during halftime, as the banner was unfurled for this past year's volleyball accomplishements. They had a great year at Salt Lake Community College.

Nationals in Council Bluffs and Pie Night

We went to Nationals Last week with Amanda's team from Salt Lake Community College. We had a great time in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. These two cities are right across the river from each other. Amanda's team took ninth place. They lost the first match and then won three in a row to win the consolation bracket for the tournament. They played really well, and we were so glad to be there. Megan went with us, and it was great to have her a long.
Here is a great shot of Amanda off the floor during warm ups.
I couldn't resist putting in this picture of Amanda with a great smile from the middle of the pre-game huddle.
I should have taken some more action shots, but I didn't take the camera the first couple of days. Here is Amanda on the floor, ready for the serve.
We went to the Winter Quarters Temple. We had a tour from a really cute sister missionary from Brazil. She was so happy to take us on the tour, and so full of the spirit, we couldn't help but just listen to her tell the story. Here is Jeannie and Megan standing in the cemetery, at the back of the temple.

This last picture is from Pie Night at the Carters. This is Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Most of the time you don't really enjoy dessert on Thanksgiving, so we have Pie Night the night before, and we eat pie and play games and have a great time. We will probably have some pie tomorrow after dinner too.

Some Fall Pictures and Info

This is a picture of Amanda's serious face during a team time out. She plays pretty serious too. The Salt Lake Bruins took first place in the regular season and were conference champions. The tournament turned out a bit different than we expected. The team ran into a buzz saw on Saturday and were beaten by a very focused and energized team from Northern Idaho.

Since the team lost that match they now have to go to Arizona to play a team down there, to have the opportunity to go to National again this year.

We are so proud of Amanda and the passion she has for Volleyball. She has decided not to play next year, but still loves the game.

I thought it was about time to put a picture of Jeannie and the girls on the blog. It was great to have the girls home home for the weekend, and

spend some time with us. The girls are doing great at school, but I think they still love to come back home on the weekends.

Below is a picture of Cole taken the same evening. He is growing up so quickly and he is six months old today. Amazing!!

Trip to Nauvoo

Go to the Ralph Carter Family Blog to read about our trip to Nauvoo.

Our Grandson's First Halloween

This is Cole Hinkley Carter on his first Halloween. He had to come over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to visit, get some treats, and show us his pumpkin costume.
